The Scottsdale Historical Museum relies almost exclusively on volunteers in order to be open to the public and maintain its archives. Every volunteer is an important and valued member of our team.
Volunteer Greeters/Docents
Greeter volunteers at the Scottsdale Historical Museum are the face of the museum to our public visitors. Greeters orient visitors to the museum, answer questions, and encourage people to browse the gift shop. Being a greeter is a great way to meet people from nearby and around the world including fellow docents. Volunteer greeters are asked to commit to at least one 4 hour shift per month .
If you are interested in becoming a part of this worthwhile group please call 480-945-4499 or email the Volunteer Coordinator, Terry Erickson at terry@ScottsdaleHistory.org.
Document archiving and fundraising
We have other opportunities to volunteer at the museum. This includes assisting with archiving documents and pictures and helping with fundraising activities. If you are interested, please contact the museum office at terry@ScottsdaleHistory.org or 480-945-4499.
